'Dubai the City that Cares' ends
DUBAI — The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) celebrated the closing of ‘Dubai the City that Cares 2004’ campaign at a festive ceremony at Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday.
The grand event was attended by important personalities from the region, representatives of the sponsors and charity organisations, media delegates and organisers of the campaign. The evening started off with the screening of a documentary that made known the cultural, sport, charity and humanitarian activities held during the campaign. The main sponsors of the event included Dubai Islamic Bank, Abraj Real Estate, Emirates Islamic Bank, Gold and Jewellery Group and BurJuman Centre.
Abdul Rehman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director-General of DCCI, thanked the sponsors for further setting in motion the success of 'Dubai the City that Cares 2004'.
Nuha Mohammed Safar, Chief Coordinator and Executive Team Leader of 'Dubai the City that Cares 2004', said that the campaign covered activities pertaining to education, sports, humanitarian and social work, besides taking initiatives such as the ‘Al Awla’ programme.
A grand raffle draw of Dh1 million was also held making a Syrian national Abdel Razaq Masalkhi a winner. The 'Dubai the City that Cares' song was performed by six singers. The personalities who attended the event included singers Demis Roussos (from Greek), Ehab Tawfiq and Simmone (from Egypt), Fadel Shaker and Joanna Mallah (from Lebanon) and Saoud Abu Sultan (from UAE). They expressed their delight at their participation.
