The project requires an investment of up to Dh800 million and will play host to Taaleem’s new Flagship School, comprising a network of five individual schools with exceptional shared facilities. Taleem has appointed Beacon Education as the management company for the schools, says a Press release.

Located in 2.5million-sq-ft campus near Academic City, this prime location at Dubailand will act as headquarters for all Taaleem and Beacon operations. The principal components of the Flagship School will include early childhood facilities, a primary/elementary school, two secondary/middle and high schools and a Junior College.

The schools will offer both day and boarding placements, besides a youth hostel to accommodate visiting students. Beacon promises ‘global standards‘ for all the five schools.

Ziad Azzam, Partner and CEO, said: "We are confident that the Flagship School will stand tall among the many remarkable achievements of Dubailand and Dubai as a whole. Taaleem and Beacon are delighted to be partnering with Dubailand in the creation of yet another visionary enterprise. Salem bin Dasmal, CEO of Dubailand, said: "Dubailand is all about fun, entertainment, leisure and happiness. The Taaleem facility is a unique project of learning that will complement what Dubailand has to offer and for those who reside in and around Dubailand."

Pointing out that Dubailand was a lifestyle centre and education being a critical component, he said Taaleem’s educational facilities would be state-of-the-art and would thus support the provision of learning experience at Dubailand.

Certain core components of the Flagship school will be operational well before its official launch in 2008, and will include Teachers' Training Institute. The Beacon team has developed a preliminary master plan that epitomises Taaleem’s ambition to create a single, campus-style environment offering a variety of exceptional shared facilities.

Within the campus, each school will retain a large degree of independence while being able to offer students unsurpassed opportunities to pursue their spheres of interests using the shared amphi-theatre, aquarium, auditorium, educational farm, riding school, design and technology workshops, planetarium, students' union and other such facilities.

Beacon Education is a management company established to address the growing need for high quality schools in the UAE and the Middle East as a whole.
