As the nation prepares for Eid Al Fitr, Etisalat is also organising competitions in different shopping malls to bring the festive atmosphere closer to the people.

The ‘Fastest Fingers’ competition will be held in shopping malls and people who are fastest in typing an SMS without mistakes and sending it will receive a prize. Each mall will have a unique number, and at predetermined times, the presenter will display the message for the competition on a screen. Anyone with a mobile can participate by typing the message and sending it to the number announced by the host. The first message that arrives at the number will be identified by a special software application, and the sender will instantly receive a prize.

Ahmed bin Ali, Manager, Corporate Communications, Etisalat, said: “On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, we would like to wish each one of our customers and partners ‘Eid Mubarak’, and we are happy that we can get closer to our customers and be a part of their celebrations. Our customers are responsible for our continuing growth and success, and we feel this an ideal time to make a gesture of appreciation. With festive atmospheres especially in shopping malls during this time, the ‘Fastest Fingers’ competitions are sure to add fun and sport.”

The ‘Fastest Fingers’ competitions will be held at Abu Dhabi Mall, Lamcy Plaza, Ibn Batouta Mall, Sahara Centre, Al Ain Mall and Al Manar Mall for six days from Friday, November 4, 2005, and will run for six days. The timings of the competitions are 11am, 12.30pm, 5pm, 7pm and 9pm. Participants in the ‘Fastest Fingers’ competitions need to be present at the venue.
