Fire erupts in Karama villa, but no casualties

DUBAI — A fire broke out yesterday in a villa behind the Iranian School in Karama.

The operation room of the Dubai Civil Defence received information at 3am that a fire had erupted in the room of Villa No. 9. Fighter brigades rushed to the site and evacuated 50 Asian nationals who lived in the villa, and disconnected the electric supply immediately.

The fire-fighters managed to put out the fire within three minutes and prevented the fire from spreading to other rooms. No casualties were reported, but the accident resulted in the burning down of a room which contained nine beds.


The total losses from the fire are estimated at about Dh20,000.
