Colonel Hamad Saeed Al Dhahry, Deputy Director of Al Ain Police Directorate, announced that as soon as the police received a call from the shop’s owner, a team was pressed into action.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang had escaped in a Toyota Corolla with Sharjah number plate,” he said, adding police patrols were alerted and told to keep a watch on all vehicles entering and exiting Al Ain.
In less than an hour, the gang was nabbed in the Al Hayer area on Al Ain-Dubai Highway and the cash recovered, he said. The police did not disclose the amount that was stolen.
