Hamad opens main branch of driving institute

FUJAIRAH — His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, yesterday formally inaugurated the main branch of Fujairah National Driving Institute (FNDI), located in Al Heel Industrial Area.

Also present were Dr Ahmed Belhasa, Chairman, Belhasa International and Amer Ahmed Belhasa, Managing Director, FNDI and Emirates Driving Institute (EDI, Dubai).

Congratulating FNDI for creating a top class facility, Shaikh Hamad said the opening of the institute was an important step towards the Emirate’s goal of emerging as a major player in the development of the UAE.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ahmed Belhasa said, “FNDI is committed to living up to the faith reposed in us by His Highness and we pledge to do our best to provide a world class training facility to the residents of Fujairah.”

After the inauguration, Shaikh Hamad inspected the training facilities at the institute which include a training yard spread over 78,000sqm area, separate lecture rooms for women and men, advanced hi-tech driving simulators and a seat-belt convincer device.

FNDI boasts of a fleet of 126 training vehicles and 73 well-trained and qualified men and women instructors in addition to 37 administrative staff members.

In his speech, Amer Ahmed Belhasa said: “We have been pioneers in introducing new technology and in providing the best facilities possible.”
