Her father bought the ticket in his daughter's name while stopping at the airport on his way to a business meeting in Dubai. Tanya's parents own and run a music school and shop in Abu Dhabi. They said they would sell the car and invest the money in their daughter's education.

ADIA sources said the airport has adopted a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote its services, not only to travellers, but also to visitors.

They said the Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) introduced the concept of a car raffle to be held in the landside area of the airport. Different luxury cars are raffled in the main passenger terminal. The raffle was conducted by Fahad Al Hossani, Acting Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation, and Mohamed Mounib, Managing Director of the ADDF.
