The event aimed at providing entertainment to children and make them feel the spirit and joy of Eid like other normal kids who are living with their parents.
As part of the programme and the foundation's cooperation with similar bodies in the Arab world, students of SEF send Eid greetings and gifts to their brothers in several other Arab countries as well as to children of 'Ahbab Allah Association' in Egypt.
The programme also featured several entertaining activities including the Holy Quran recitation by one of the orphans, songs on Eid, games, lectures on forgiveness, family and friendship as well as competitions.
More than 700 orphans and their mothers, other children as well as administration staff of SEF attended the celebration.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, a spokesperson of the SEF told about the objectives of the gathering which aimed at educating students about how people can show solidarity and unity and how to be close to each other and to God during Eid.
"Such functions provide the children with an opportunity to interact with other children which helps a great in developing their personalities and acquire confidence, besides breaking the psychological barriers between them and the society in an attempt to integrate them in their surrounding environments."
The spokesperson added that during this Eid the foundation had prepared a list of needy families registered with the foundation and of those who were referred by other organisations to benefit from aids and charity provided by wealthy donors during the Eid.
A number of shopping coupons for Eid clothes and toys for the children were distributed among the orphans.
"This is a means to improve the foundation's services and provide the orphans their basic needs," the spokesperson explained.
The foundation is working hard to occupy the place of the father not only during Eid but throughout the year and on different occasions.
Its programmes are designed to prepare the young orphans to become effective members in the society by offering them comprehensive care in terms of education, health, social and psychological services that enable them to adjust in the society.
