The visit comes as part of joint cooperation between both municipalities.

The delegation was received at the municipality’s premises by Ali Al Hamrany, Director-General of Ajman Municipality, and top officials from government departments in Ajman.

In his address, Mr Al Hamrany spoke of the rapid development of the emirate’s infrastructure and the progress achieved in the economic and industrial field, as well as the improvement of public services provided by the municipality.

He said that Ajman has 1,500 industrial establishments, which contribute to the economic development of the emirate.

The emirate, which is characterised by its strategic location amidst the northern emirates, has become an important economic hub in the country, especially after the expansion of its free zone with an area estimated at 34,000 square kilometres.

Mr Al Hamrany discussed investment opportunities in both the industrial and commercial field in the emirate and he briefed the delegates on the quality of services and the facilities being provided to investors by the Government of Ajman.

During the visit, a documentary film on Ajman’s rapid development was screened to familiarise the visitors with the various projects that have been carried out and contributed to the emirate’s progress.

Another documentary film on the Ajman Sewerage project was presented by Bob Taylor, General Manager of Ajman Sewerage Company, who also discussed the benefits of the new sewerage system in the emirate.

At the end of the meeting Mr Al Hamrany and Dr Balleis discussed areas of possible cooperation between the two civic bodies as well as methods for exchanging experiences between the two cities.

Dr Balleis and the delegates were impressed by the rapid development of the emirate.

They also hailed the important role played by the municipality in providing advanced services to the public and its efforts that contribute to the development of the infrastructure of the emirate.
