The remarkable increase in applications is attributed to the decision of Abu Dhabi Police on recruitment of locals holding the General Secondary School Certificate.

Lieutenant Colonel Hilal Eidha Al Mazroui, Acting Director of Appointment Section at the General Department for Human Resources, said applications are received at the recruitment centres in the capital, Al Fwaa School in Al Ain and Police School in Sharjah. He said applications can be submitted either at the beginning of the year or during summer time.

"The number of nationals in different police departments is expected to rise," he said, noting that the recruits will undergo six-month training course after which new applications will be processed.

The department also accepts applications of national female women who are interested to take up jobs in the police, said Lt.-Gen. Mazroui. Dates for accepting and processing female applications will be announced later, he added.
