New SSLC exam dates

DUBAI - The Kerala State Board yesterday announced new dates for the SSLC (grade 10) examinations which were postponed following leak of question papers in India.

According to V.N Somarajan, Joint Commissioner for Examination, Government of Kerala, the new dates for the rescheduled examinations are as follows: Physics April 15, Chemistry April 16, Geography April 18 and Biology and Information Technology on April 19.

He said the examination for the IT subject will be held in the afternoon on April 19, while Biology will be held in the morning the same day. He added that the rescheduling of some of the SSLC examination in April might result in delay in the results.


“The results may be declared around May 25, 2005,” Somarajan told Khaleej Times.

The Kerala State Board on Sunday announced their decision to postpone some of the examinations following the leak of geography paper, and rumours on leaking of the sciences papers as well.

The decision to reschedule the exams was taken to ensure credibility of the examinations, the official said, disclosing that it was the first time ever in the history of the Kerala State Board examinations that question papers were leaked ahead of the exams. Investigations into the leak is being conducted by the State Government of Kerala, he added.
