A Press statement issued by the Ministry yesterday said that on December 24, the three authorities arrested 117 workers of Basel Electromechanical situated in Karama, which is sponsored by a UAE national, Mohammed Hassan Masoud, and managed by Sajan Sakariya, an Indian.

The ministry found out that these workers included 53 absconders, most of whom were reported to the ministry by their sponsors as absconders, 18 domestic servants, 38 on visit visas, six infiltrators, and two on the sponsorship of the Ports Authority.

The ministry said that it is continuing its joint campaign to arrest illegal workers who pose a threat to the country. The DNRD said in the statement that it would not be lenient with violators who do not abide by the country’s laws and regulations.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs appreciated the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police Departments for arresting the violators. The ministry extended its thanks to the DNRD for its effective cooperation with the ministry to protect the country from violators.
