Mohamed Salem Al Zahiri, Director of ADEZ, during a meeting held at the Al Afaq Model School, discussed with the school administrators the problems faced by the education sector last year in order to overcome them in the new academic year.

“We are here to discuss the problems to achieve the best for the education system,” he said.

The meeting took into consideration 18 problems that must be avoided in the new academic year. Al Zahiri’s remarks related to the maintenance of schools, provision of drinking water for students, distributing timetables of lessons to the teachers in a fair manner, maintaining good contacts with parents, and looking after the welfare of the newlyappointed teachers.

Other issues include benefiting civil society, teachers’ training, school activities, and continuous followup by the school management.

“We must work to develop the education process, and so, we have to learn from our mistakes,” he added.

Mohamed Al Maskri, Deputy Director of ADEZ, affirmed that the administrators must achieve the transfer of teachers among schools quickly to ensure the smooth functioning of the education system.

“Also, the school management must ensure accuracy in providing data and statistics to the education zone to prepare suitable information and statistical reports to the Ministry of Education (MoE),” he added.

Al Maskri stressed that the education zone must not allow any school administration to set special timings for its students.

He added: “The MoE has given instructions on the school timings, and all schools in the UAE must comply with that. Teachers, and even students, are not in a prison where the school doors are closed, and the teachers cannot move without permission. We work to make, in the future, the school doors open for all,” he noted.
