RTA promotions for UAE nationals

DUBAI —The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently appointed and promoted UAE nationals to key positions across its various departments in an effort to encourage Emiratisation in the authority.

The development is in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime MInister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to harness the growing talent among UAE nationals.

Through several administrative orders issued by Mattar Al Tayer, RTA's Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Director, the appointments and promotions aim to further the vision and strategic goals of the RTA. Appointed as Traffic Control Manager in the Public Bus Department of the Public Transport Agency was Salem Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, who has 15 years of experience in inspection and administrative work.


Hamed Aqeel Al Fahim has been designated as Road Planning and Design Manager. He has a Master's Degree in Engineering and Road Management from Birmingham University in the United Kingdom and is a recipient of the Shaikh Rashid Scientific Excellence Award. Al Fahim also has more than eight years of experience in roads affairs. Alah Al Deen Mohammed Al Marzouqi has been appointed Deputy Director of the Traffic Department and Manager of Smart Traffic System (STS).
