Colonel Rashid Al Gharib Al Mahmoud, Director of the Sharjah Traffic Police and Licensing Department, said motorists using light and heavy vehicles on Emirates Road, especially from Flyover No. 3 on the Dhaid highway towards Dubai, should extend cooperation with the police in facilitating traffic on the Emirates Road during road development works being undertaken to expand the road.

He said motorists should use alternative roads to the diversion made at Al Thiqa Club. The diversion is made to help complete works of the first phase of the road expansion project. "We would like to prevent any pressure on the route that causes traffic congestion and delays. This will help motorists reach Dubai and other emirates without major traffic congestion problems that could be caused due to the ongoing works on the Emirates Road", sad Col. Al Mahmoud.
