According to the case history, her boyfriend used to frequent her at her room in the nights, and she became pregnant. The matter was referred to the Public Prosecution, which arrested her boyfriend and produced both before the court. The court sentenced them to three months in jail and 90 lashes each followed by deportation on charges of adultery. The duty doctor in the hospital found that the housemaid, who complained of stomachache, was three months pregnant, and reported the matter to Fujairah Police.
When interrogated in front of her sponsor, the maid admitted that she met Kabeer H., a Bangladeshi labourer, and that he visited her in her room in the sponsor's house several times without the knowledge of any family member. The police arrested him and he confessed to having sex with her several times.
Both were transferred to the prosecution which charged them with adultery, and referred them to the court, which handed them down the verdict.
