An Emirates spokesperson, meanwhile, said that the Emirates' flight EK803 Dubai-Jeddah “pushed back and was brought back to the stand as one of the avionics indicators came on”.

The spokesperson said: “The flight was delayed by two and a half hours, during which time all the necessary checks were carried out by Emirates Engineering and the flight subsequently was cleared for take-off.”

The spokesperson confirmed there were no aborted take-off attempts.
