Under the schedule, Friday has been designated for visiting Arab males from 10.30am to 11.30am, and Arab women from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Saturday has been set for men from other nationalities from 10.30am to 11.30am, and for women from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Meanwhile, Brigadier Mohammed Humaid Al Suwaidi, director of the department, said that the department is giving much attention to the prison inmates during the holy month.

It has set up a committee to revive the religious, social and ports activities programmes, he said.

The programmes include organising religious lectures, religious, sports and cultural contests.

They are aimed at inculcating the tenets of Islam and social values in the hearts and minds of prison inmates, he said, and are designed to cement the bonds of friendship and build confidence between the correctional institution and the prisoner.
