The fire broke out at 1.30am in the two shops which were stocked with plastic toys and other Chinese made plastic items, a source at the mall said.
He said there were no casualties except for a security guard who suffered slight burns as he tried to break open the door of one of the shops to control the fire before the arrival of the civil defence.
