Westminster School secures top honour
DUBAI — The University of Cambridge honoured the Westminster School, a Gems school, with the 'Cambridge Fellowship Centre Status,' a unique grant only 50 schools across the world and two in the region have.
The unique recognition is accorded to the school for its outstanding commitment on working with the University of Cambridge International Examinations.
The award was presented to the Westminster School’s Principal, David Morrison, by Christine Daw, Regional Manager - Middle East & North Africa, University of Cambridge International Examinations at a special ceremonial function held at the school’s auditorium.
Morrison said: “It is indeed a very special day for Westminster faculty and staff and Gems Education for their constant support and guidance to the school.”
As a result of this award, the school has received many benefits from the University of Cambridge International Examinations and the special privilege to nominate the high achievers of AS / A-level courses for scholarship for three consecutive years in any university in the world.
The award ceremony was attended by Laila Murtadha Baqar, Head of Private Education at the Ministry of Education in Dubai, officials from the University of Cambridge International Examinations, officials from Gems Education, parents, staff and students.
