Dr Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice-President of Zayed University, thanked Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry, for his support to the annual Scotland trips as they help students gain experiences and academic skills.
This year, 40 students from Zayed and UAE universities as well as Dubai Women's College are part of the delegation which will pursue diverse specialised courses.
"The trips which are organised by the university, Al Maktoum Institute for Arabic & Islamic Studies in Scotland, and Al Maktoum Foundation have enhanced the cultural and academic awareness of the students. They represent the university's openness towards different cultures as stressed by Shaikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of Zayed University; they also embody the cooperation agreement which was signed by the University and Al Maktoum Institute," he said.
Dr Al Jassim lauded the initiatives of the institute and Al Maktoum Humanitarian Foundation for sponsoring the trips and supporting the expenses of the students during their stay. During their stay in Scotland, the students will also meet prominent Scottish personalities in addition to visiting historical places and social and business organisations.The delegation was seen off by Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
