Huawei has unveiled its new P10 devices in the UAE on Tuesday, promising more natural-looking images comparable to studio-level portraits.
The Chinese technology company has once again partnered with Leica to further boost its cameras, and the 5.1-inch P10 and 5.5-inch P10 Plus bring the first front camera powered by the latter.
The devices are also the first smartphones that come with 3D facial-mapping technology, portrait enhancements and dynamic illumination that, when combined with the flagship series' other top-line camera technologies, promises better-looking pictures.
The front cameras on the P10 units now capture two times more light, and automatically switch to wide-angle mode when more people join in the fray.
"Our ambition is to offer people a compelling photography experience by putting the power of a photography studio in their pocket," David Wang, UAE country manager at Huawei Consumer Business Group, told Khaleej Times in a statement. "In today's fast-paced environment, it's hard to always live in the moment yet the ability to beautifully capture and document our experiences helps us preserve our best moments and memories." Huawei - which updates its camera technologies every six months - poured in extensive research in developing the P10 devices, showing that by understanding the relative position of each facial feature and uniqueness of skin type, portrait enhancements can be applied in a more natural way.
Both devices' have a low-voltage, low-temperature fast-charging solution and comes with a secure five-gate protection mechanism, which offers real-time battery management.
After its launch at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, P10 and P10 Plus received a number of "Best Phone" awards.
The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will be available in the UAE starting tomorrow, and will be priced at Dh1,899 and Dh2,599, respectively. The company offered a pre-order programme, which granted gifts to those who availed.
