Al Wagan Hospital to be expanded

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) has announced that work on the expansion and renovation of Al Wagan Hospital, located in the Eastern Region of the emirate, will commence in due course. This has been agreed after approval was granted by the Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The expansion will enable residents of Al Wagan to have access to integrated, high-quality healthcare services.

This step forms a part of the plans of the Abu Dhabi Government to develop infrastructure in some identified areas and provide essential facilities such as health centres, schools, marketplaces, mosques, and recreational areas to meet the needs of the growing population in these areas.

Seha will carry out a process of expansion and renovation at Al Wagan Hospital to ensure that its design is compliant with state-of-the-art design criteria on a par with global health facilities.

The new building will also reduce maintenance costs and provide a number of administrative support services, including meeting rooms and parking lots.

After completion, the hospital will offer many more medical services, including Obstetrics and Gynaecology and dialysis, which means people need not travel to Al Ain city for treatment.

The hospital will have nine more beds, taking the inpatient capacity to 24; four more examination rooms in the specialist outpatient clinics taking the number to 14; one operating theatre for Caesarean sections; two Labour-Delivery-Recovery rooms (LDR); one room for infectious cases for resident patients; one unit in the emergency room for quick examination and diagnosis, bringing the total number to eight units; provision of a single computed tomography (CT) scan device; and some more new units for dialysis. — Wam
