As Aster grows in the UAE and the Gulf, the company went to India and started operations in 2001. Since then, Aster has achieved one milestone after the other including the inauguration of the Aster-MIMS hospital, which offers primary to tertiary care to Indians. Aster has since built eight hospitals with 2,200 beds in India.Promoters of Aster have started medical academic institutions in India - DM WIMS Medical College and Hospital.
In 2015, Aster pioneered its commitment to India's medical tourism by opening its doors to quaternary care hospital - Aster Medcity in Kochi, Kerala offering eight centres of excellence within a 670-bed facility in phase one.
With the company's unwavering commitment to India, Aster DM Healthcare is set to open its first facility in Bengaluru - the 500-bed Aster CMI Hospital. Aster CMI Hospital is operated pursuant to an Operation and Management contract with Cauvery Medical Centre Limited in Bangalore. This new super-speciality hospital provides primary to tertiary care. Additionally, the entire facilities design keeps in mind the comfort of patients. Besides a serene environment, spacious interiors and state-of-the-art facilities create a positive ambience that encourages healing. Aster CMI Hospital remains to be a continuation of Aster's endeavour to create world-class healthcare facilities.
