Dubai — Dubai Healthcare City has announced the setting up of the Mohammed bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences and the launch of the Mohammed bin Rashid University Hospital, which will be opened later. The move follows the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Dubai Healthcare City authority said the university will offer citizens and residents with a host of graduate and postgraduate programmes. It will receive the first batch of students in September 2015. The first phase of the project will include the Faculty of Medicine, which will take 50 students in the first batch, and the Dental College, which exists already.
