Licence cards of healthcare professionals will be digitalised from now on, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced. The move is part of the authority's efforts to implement Dubai's Paperless Strategy.

"Printed cards will be replaced with digital ones to obtain the licence from five days to getting it immediately. It also helps reduce the possibility of loss or damage and reduces cost and waste," said Dr Hisham Al Hammadi, Director of Health Licensing at the DHA.

He added that verifying the details of the e-licence can be done through the free online verification service - available on the Sheryan licencing system - by entering the licence barcode and pin number, or by checking the professional's details through the Dubai Medical Registry.
