Two popular and much-loved Emirati media personalities have shown their true spirit of fatherly and daughterly love.
Both made the decision to donate one of their most priceless possessions - an organ - to their loved ones.
On Tuesday, TV anchor, writer/producer and former journalist, Jamal Matter, underwent a liver transplant in Korea.
And on August 8, popular Emirati TV personality, Manal Ahmad, will be following in his footsteps.
Matter donated his liver to his teenage son, and Ahmad's liver transplantation will be to her father.
Matter's sister Moza told Khaleej Times that everything went according to their plan.
"So far, the operation has been a success. Jamal and his son are good, but they are just very tired right now."
UAE residents and friends of the popular Arabic personality took to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on the day of the surgery to offer well wishes to the father and son.
Using his Twitter handle, @alameemi, popular Arabic Poet Sultan Al Ameemi tweeted to his 160,000 followers: "To our media colleagues, Jamal will go for an operation today to donate his liver to his son. We wish him well and hope the operation is a success."
While @WafaAlMulla tweeted: "God bless him and his son. Give him strength to get through it."
On Monday, Ahmad will also be going under the knife in aid of her father.
Posting a video to her 276,000 Instagram followers on Tuesday, she asked for their support.
"Ask god that I will be fine during the operation. I will be donating my liver to my father," she said.
Describing herself as a 'Thalassaemia Ambassador' on her profile, Ahmed will also be travelling to Korea for the operation.
