If you are willing to spare just 15 minutes at the Zulekha Hospital on Monday, it will help save at least three lives.
The hospital is hosting the 'Donate Blood. Save Life' campaign between 9am and 2pm in association with the Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Ministry of Health, at the premises of hospital in Sharjah.
Participants can donate blood aboard a fully-equipped bus, which has been refurbished with state-of-the-art health care facilities, specifically designed for blood donation.
"Blood donation drives are incredibly important and our aim is to receive blood from more than 100 donors," said Zanubia Shams, CEO of Zulekha Hospital.
"Each donation takes around 15 minutes, is painless and safe, and has the potential to save up to three lives. We want the public to realise that there is a constant need for blood donation and each one of us has a duty to help save the lives of others. "
The hospital informs anyone can donate but donors should not be fasting, aged between 18 and 65 years, and weigh no less than 55kg.
Moreover, those who have visited countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, East Asia and Africa in the past year are not eligible to donate.
The hospital ensures the blood collection process is conducted under expert supervision and hygienic conditions.
Staff members from various departments and management of Zulekha Hospital will also be part of those volunteering for the initiative.
