Competitors demonstrated a broad base of training as they were tested across various courses with tight turns, double and triple combinations and walls.
Classes ranged from 95cm fences up to the more outstanding and challenging courses of 140+cm fences.
“Show Jumping is a real spectator sport - and riders need plenty of speed and agility in equal amounts to jump clear under the pressure of time” said Paul McAuley, Manager EEC.
The first class of the Friday was open ABC class that was a course of fences up to 120cm jumped against the clock.
The winning rosette deservedly went to Mohammed Abdulla Al Kumaiti who rode Al Mutawakel from Ajman Equestrian club. Mohammed rode a clear round in the time of 52.31sec. In second place was Mohammed Abdullah Ketait on Call Boy 2000 Z from Emirates Equestrian Centre who also cleared the course with a time of 59.13 seconds. Followed closely in third was Humaid Rashid Ejtibi on Pick Risillo from Heritage Club who cleared course in time 59.38 seconds.
Later in the same day riders competed in the more challenging B1A2, a speed class with fences set at 130cm. This time the winner was Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi riding his horse Tip Top from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club. The pair jumped clear with an unbeatable time of 61.87sec. Second place went to Khalid Ali Al Junaibi on Whynona from Landforce Army who rode clear in time of 63.19 seconds. Third prize went to Mohammed Abdullah Ketait on Call Boy 2000 Z from Emirates Equestrian Centre. The pair cleared all fences in 63.26 seconds.
