The competition is organised under the auspices of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The seventh edition of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship (DIAHC) will conclude on March 20. The competition has been awarded ‘A’ class show status from the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations (ECAHO) in 2006.
After the outstanding success of the event in March 2006, the high level of competition, and the excellent reports receiving from horse owners, breeders, trainers and officials attending the show, the Higher Organising Committee of DIAHC thought it was appropriate to apply to ECAHO for this show to be upgraded and awarded a classification deserving of the results achieved since its inception in 2004.
Following the opening ceremony, Shaikh Hamdan toured the Dubai International Horse Fair (DIHF) which is organised by Dubai World Trade Centre, and runs alongside the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship. The Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship is a three-day competition for purebred Arabian horses, showcasing their beauty, agility and heritage and culminating in the Championship classes for the most exquisite horses.
It’s the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world. It is a beauty competition for Purebred Arabian horses, from the very young to the elderly statesmen of the Arabian equine world.
