The brilliant colt lodged his claim as front runner for the Dubai Golden Shaheen trophy on the Dubai World Cup on March 28, unless the connections decide otherwise.

Ridden by Frankie Dettori, the four-year-old Street Cry colt made smooth progress to lead at the home turn and sprint home easily ahead of the fast finishing Mutheeb. Hot favourite War Artist under Olivier Peslier finished a disappointing fifth.

Early in the evening, Richard Hills partnered No Risk Al Maury to glory in the third round of the Prebred Arabians Al Maktoum Challenge Group-1. Trainer Gillian Duffield said: “He is honest and keen.”

The eight-year-old by Kesberoy did nothing wrong and travelled very well from the word go. David Badel set an early pace astride Arsene Rubin and Richard Hills put No Risk Al Maury on the heels of the speed before he asked the question as the pack hit the home turn.

In the second race, Frankie Dettori partnered Mendip to victory to land the 1900m Al Bastikiya, second leg of the Dubai Triple Crown.
