Partnered by Tadhg O’Shea in all of his last five starts, the seven-year-old son of Green Desert will be the one to beat in the 1600m Al Dana Wealth Management Conditions fourth race on the card.

Haing finished respectable third to international raider Cat Junior in the 1600m Burj Nahaar (Group-3) on the Super Thursday before he went one better to finish close second to Calming Influence in the 1600m Godolphin Mile (Group-2) on the Dubai World Cup night last March.

Green Coast will be opposed by Ali Rashid Al Rahi pair, top weight Jet Express, ridden by Royston Ffrench and Aamaaq under Richard Hills.

The horse is reportedly working well and it would be very difficult to see him finishing second in this company.

The 1900m CBD World Mastercard Conditions fifth race is the second highlight of the season. Top weight Monte Alto, Richard Hills up, will renew rivalry against earlier conqueror over distance and course Kal Barg under William Buick after his return from a short home visit.

But our vote should go to Kal Barq for this particular distance which is believed to be too short for Monte Alto.

But, trainer Ali Rashid Al Raihe disagreed saying that though Monte Alto showed his stamina over longer distance, but still he’s a miler and even a good sprinter when it matters and the 1900 metre should suit him.

The opening race of the evening, a 1900m Conditions contest, is the only Purebred Arabians, has attracted who shined in the 2010 Dubai Kahayla Classic (Group-1) last March.

The Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum trio headed by top weight Nirwan, the choice of the first jockey Richard Hills, Paris Gagner under Tadhg O’Shea (both trained Doug Watson) and the Erwan Charpy-trained Santhal looks to be unbeatable in the race.

Richard Hills will reunite with Nirwan who would be carrying extra four kilos penalty on winning a Group-1 contest. But all eyes would be on the mount of Tadhg O’Shea, Paris Gagner.

Blitzed makes season reappearance in a couple of weeks under Ted Durcan in the second race, a 1400m Attijari Points Reward Program.

The Herman Brown-trained son of Fantastic Light-colt was caught on the line by Emirates Sports on UAE debut under apprentice jockey Harry Bentley who passed the reigns in today’s test to the more illustrious rider Ted Durcan. The main danger is the Musabah Al Muhairi duo Fantastic Dubai under Wayne Smith and Africanus in the hands of Harry Bentley.

Street Act, under Royston Ffrench looks good to break the maiden in the third race and Five Cents has every chance to complete a double for the Al Raihe-Ffrench partnership in the sixth and final race.

KT Selections: 1. Paris Gagner/ Nirwan 2. Fantastic Dubai/ Africanus 3. Street Act/ Mark To Market 4. Green Coast/ Aamaaq 5. Kal Barg/ Invula 6. Five Cents/ Barbecue.

Day’s Best: Green Coast.
