This year’s edition of the Dubai International Film Festival will once again offer a selection of 2014’s best films from around the world as part of its Cinema of the World programme. Starring renowned actors and conceptualised by the world’s best directors, writers and producers, the films will be shown during the festival, running from December 10 to 17.

Director Theodore Melfi will bring his heart-warming comedy St. Vincent (pictured) to town after garnering praise from critics and fans alike.

St. Vincent stars Bill Murray as the cantankerous Vincent, a man set in his anti-social ways who is suddenly plagued by the presence of his young neighbour Oliver before an unusual friendship blossoms that changes both their lives.

Following his success in winning the Cannes Grand Prix in 2010 with Of Gods and Men, director Xavier Beauvois has returned to the big screen with The Price of Fame.

Starring Benoît Poelvoorde and Nadine Labaki, this comedy follows the true story of two crooks who exhume Charlie Chaplin’s body to hold it ransom.

Other films included in the line up are Turist by Ruben Östlund, Phoenix by acclaimed German filmmaker Christian Petzold and Tigers by director Danis Tanoviæ with Emraan Hashmi in the leading role.
