Renowned British filmmaker to host production workshop in Dubai

IF YOU’VE EVER dreamed of becoming a filmmaker but aren’t sure exactly where to start, a new workshop in Dubai may be the motivation you need to get started.

Light House Studio Dubai in association with renowned filmmaker, Philip Bloom, will host an intensive three-day Video and Film workshop this month.

To be held from January 17 to 19 at Light House Studio in Al Quoz, the course will cover exhaustive training on video and film equipment as well as lighting and post-production. Participants will explore various editing workflow techniques, the significance of audio in post-production, studies on creating the perfect ambience and analysis of clips from shooting exercises.

This three-day course costs Dhs3,000 and will highlight detailed analysis of DSLR, accessorising the filming kit, recording sound and time lapse on the first day. Day two and day three will focus on an advanced level of filmmaking. The course will also include a shooting exercise.

Bloom, a British filmmaker known for his blogs and cinematography, will conduct the entire workshop. Considered as one of the new breed of digital cinematographers, Bloom has become one of the leading world evangelists for the low budget film look.
