LAST WEEK, CITY Times reported that the shooting of Bollywood film Hera Pheri 3 seems to be in trouble. The first UAE filming schedule was held in April 2015 in Dubai. But after almost a year we haven't heard a peep out of them.
Following our story, the makers of Hera Pheri 3 got in touch with us clarifying as to why their shoot is delayed. Dubai-based entrepreneur Arjun Kumar who is also the associate producer of this film told us, "We would like to clarify that Hera Pheri 3 is moving along fine and there is no trouble in paradise. There was a delay as one of our lead actors was injured while shooting another film of his, also, since it is a multi-star cast film, matching dates can get tricky. Artists have prior commitments and the majority of the film's scenes require either two or all of the stars to be present."
"We will resume filming very soon and intend to wrap up the film in two schedules (including one schedule in UAE - which will be shot in a massive luxurious mansion and a 300 ft super luxury yacht). Hera Pheri is still remembered as one of the funniest Hindi films of all time which has achieved a cult status in the comedy film genre and we cannot afford to take any shortcuts on the storytelling," Arjun added.
The film's team also said that they share a wonderful bond with the UAE since Firoz Nadiadwala who is the head of Base Industries Group (BIG) and producer of Hera Pheri 3 and Welcome Back has shot many of his previous films in the UAE,
"Firoz A Nadiadwala is one of India's first film makers to begin filming in the UAE since the early 90s. Either portions or songs of BIG's major Productions including Welcome, Fool N Final, Deewane Huye Paagal, Awara Paagal Deewana, Kartoos, Lahoo Ke Do Rang & Aan - Men At Work have all been shot here in the UAE.
"Welcome Back is the first big budget mainstream Bollywood film to have been shot almost completely in Dubai. Lastly, BIG is the only production house with three successful ongoing film franchises including Welcome, Hera Pheri and the Awara Pagal Deewana series. We will soon begin filming Awara Pagal Deewana 2 with Akshay Kumar and yes we will also be including a UAE schedule in that."
