From the heights of stardom to racking up shiny Oscar trophies, it’s easy to forget that even the biggest names in Hollywood once took acting classes.

For stage enthusiasts across Dubai, an upcoming workshop from Drama Dubai titled ‘The Desert Monologues’ might be the perfect opportunity to gain expert feedback and polish up on acting skills.

The course, starting from September 26 until November 7, will take participants through a variety of drama-based activities culminating in monologue performances at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre at Mall of the Emirates. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an absolute beginner, if you want to act in a professional theatre and work with like-minded, talented individuals, this is a great place to start.

Workshops will explore script-work, improvisation and characterisation. Experienced instructors will teach you how to get the best out of your voice and improve your stagecraft. The course ends with professionally recorded monologue performances in the black-box Kilachand Studio as well as tutorials on understanding the dynamics of theatrical lighting, sound, make-up and costume.

With two package options ranging from Dhs1,800 to Dhs2,500, more details and a registration pack can be requested by e-mailing tiffany@dramaworkshopsdubai.com.
