PAKISTANI FILM WRONG No. released in the UAE last weekend. The cast and crew of this Pakistani slapstick comedy came down to the Khaleej Times office last week to promote their film. The film features Javed Sheikh, Danish Taimoor, Danish Nawaz, Sohai Ali Abro (all pictured) in lead roles.
"It is a comedy film and for the first time I am playing a butcher. But I loved my character and people loved it as well," said Javed Sheikh explaining his character.
The cast and crew were also happy that Pakistani cinema is finally making profit. We got some first-hand business reports of the upcoming movie industry. "From this Eid, money has started coming back. This year we did around Rs40 crore business from five films and this has broken the record of the past 2-3 decades. That includes two Hollywood, one Bollywood, and two Pakistani films. People have started going to the cinema. We have limited cinemas but we are making more cinema houses now. By next year, we should have a lot more multiplexes," explained seasoned artist Javed Sheikh.
Wrong No. is a romantic comedy film directed by Yasir Nawaz.
It tells the story of a guy who wants to be a superstar and his father wants him to be a butcher. (arti@khaleejtimes.com)
