Dubai Sports World has proved to be a popular hit with local residents as the fitness-centric event continues this summer with the spirit of competition and athleticism on full showcase.
Running until August 30 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the venue is offering an exciting environment where talented athletes, young and old, can concentrate on crafting their skills.
There’s something for everyone here from badminton and cricket to tennis and skateboarding, allowing visitors to organise games and book private sessions with their friends. For football fans, a new training concept run by Frederic Kanoute, a former African footballer of the year and star striker in England’s Premier League, is in full swing.
With eight professional-standard pitches for football and rugby, one volleyball court, three basketball courts, one tennis court, a cricket pitch and a skate-boarding and BMX park, Dubai Sports World has significantly expanded its offerings this season.
All visitors to the complex can also visit the gym set-up by Technogym and exercise for free. The gym area has three sections that are separated into strength, cardio and functional training areas with trainers available for consultation. Additionally, Technogym is running a contest titled, ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’, a challenge dedicated to promoting movement and fighting sedentary lifestyles.
