Tiger Shroff, Son of Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, was in Dubai last Thursday to promote his debut film Heropanti. The twenty-four-year old actor was in town with his co-star Kriti Sanon and director Sabbir Khan. While talking to City Times before heading off to The Pulse nightclub, Junior Shroff sounded every bit excited to be in Dubai.

Heropanti that was, till last week, the solo Hindi film slated to release on May 22 will now face stiff competition from Rajnikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan the release of which had been pushed at the last minute from May 8 to May 22.

While talking about this tough battlefield, Tiger sounded extremely confident: “I would like to mention that my father (Jackie Shroff) is part of that film as well; he is the baddie in Kochadaiiyaan. So there is competition at home, there is competition outside as well. I am actually looking forward to that because it is a very competitive feeling in a good way. We are very secure about our work. We have worked very hard in the past two years and we are just looking forward for 23rd of May to show our work to people.”

He added, “My father is the most chilled out guy ever. He is known to be very bindaas (cool and carefree).

Director Sabbir Khan, who was also present during the interview, seemed surprised to learn about this father v/s son face off. Khan said that it works in the favour of audience to get two releases in a week “I think it is a good thing for the audiences, who have various types of films releasing. They can make their own choice of the kind of movie they want to see and I think there is room for all types of interesting film.”

Kriti Sanon, who studied to be a Engineer, but was born to an actress (as she told us) wants audience to see both the films. “You do not need to necessarily choose one film. You can always watch both.” arti@khaleejtimes.com
