Three scientists win Nobel Prize for Medicine

Stockholm - This is the first Nobel Prize of 2019 to be announced.

The Nobel Prize for Medicine was on Monday awarded to three scientists for discovery of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen.

"The 2019 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded jointly to William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza "for their discoveries of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability", the organisers said on their official Twitter account.
