The support by Amul Gold Milk in Surat, Gujarat, for Voter Awareness Campaign through milk pouches is indeed appreciable [KT, March 18].
Through their one-line message printed on more than 800,000 pouches, they are encouraging residents every morning to become part of the India’s biggest democratic process and exercise their franchise in the Lok Sabha polls.
We should be aware of the “none of the above” (NOTA) voting option on our ballot. On September 27, 2013, the Supreme Court of India ruled that the right to register a “none of the above” vote in elections should apply, noting that it would increase participation.
Even if the candidates seem unsuitable or unworthy, we should go and cast our ballot for NOTA. Every effort counts to wipe away the misfits! As Abraham Lincoln said, “the ballot is stronger than the bullet.”
