Yellen: dollar not under threat; markets should set its value

Bikram Vohra's article: Descriptive writing is a trap and can drive the reader mad (KT, Feb 24) was an interesting read. Gone are the days when readers/ audience enjoyed descriptive stuff and long speeches. Today, writers and speakers not only have to think about what they have to write and say but also what they convey, how to be precise and concise yet effective. It is important to connect with the people, the readers. People detest reading and listening to the stuff that contains flowery language, age-old preaching and the so-called 'pearls of wisdom'. Readers and audience are prudent and pragmatic. They want the stuff concrete and specific - not vague and abstract.
