September 21 is gratitude day. We have so much to be grateful for to the Almighty especially during this pandemic - we are healthy, safe, and alive in the midst of our loved ones.
We need to make it a point to be grateful every day for so many things in our lives - for this beautiful country, our own countries, all those who love us, our families. Those who care for us, friends, neighbours, teachers; those who help us, cleaners, contract workers, labourers; those who provide and feed us, the farmers, people at the supermarket; those who protect us, our security of land, air and sea. Doctors, nurses, ward assistants, etc. There is so much to be thankful for the good. For all those who touched our lives in some form or the other. Above all for the many blessings we received so far.
Children should be taught from a young age to count their blessings. To be thankful for what we have and not thinking of what we want. They should be encouraged to write down five things daily they are grateful for. If we get into the habit of counting our blessings, we will find more than five things to be grateful for that will make us feel happy. -Jall Mehta, Dubai
