Firstly, the educational opportunities are highly unequal. The quality of education is different in both, private and public sector. This creates a sort of disparity among people; it divides them into two segments. Poor educational facilities are a major reason for the dropout rates in rural areas and in public sector. Secondly, regional disparity is also a major cause. The schools in Karachi are much better than those in the sparsely populated Balochistan. The third major cause of flawed education system in Pakistan is gender discrimination. In FATA, the literacy rate is deplorable constituting 29.5 per cent in males and 3 per cent in females. Fourthly, and the most importantly, the lack of technical education is an area that needs to be focussed on.
Pakistan needs to focus on its educational system — this will sort out many of the country’s probems.
