There are many methods to study effectively and with enjoyment, in a relaxed manner. Read with concentration, take notes and learn to write answers connecting to real-life situations. Taking notes will help you to organise, categorise and recall information as and when required — for completing assignments or revising for examinations.

While studying, jotting down relevant information helps you to remember better. It will make revisions easy since you can go through well-prepared notes quickly.

There are different methods of preparing notes. Decide which one suits you best. Linear notes and pattern notes are the most common and easiest ones. In the linear method, you condense the material using headings and sub headings, and jotting down the most important points. In pattern notes, begin the topic at the centre of the page. Each line radiating from it represents a branch of the main idea. For easy reference and quick understanding, the most effective way is to use a combination of both. Review your notes periodically as it helps attain long-term memory.
