No smoking please

The musical fountain at Dubai Mall is a major attraction for the residents and tourists. People from all walks of life and ages, including infants and kids throng the venue to enjoy the spectacular show. The sea of people especially on weekends and public holidays is to be seen to believed.

However, a major annoyance at the venue is that many people, both men and women smoke at this public place relentlessly, without any concern for others, especially infants and kids. It is a health hazard not only for the smokers but also for passive smokers and a dampener to the spectacular shows, which draw millions at the venue. Can the authorities look into this and impose a strict ban on smoking at the entire fountain area including the open restaurants at the venue? Besides no smoking signages, the area should be monitored with steep fines if necessary. Designated areas are available within the mall. Smoking at Dubai Fountain Area should be prohibited for public health and safety.
