Tensions in the region must not be allowed to escalate. Any miscalculation will have dire consequences for all those involved. Innocent civilians continue to die in Syria, Libya and Yemen. When will mankind realise that war is a crime?
As conflicts in hot spots continue to rage unabated, we cannot but help reflect on the passing of what has been a violent and destructive era in human history. War is an extension of politics; it is without argument the worst collective experience of humanity. It has created new nations on the rubbles of destroyed cities.
The core reasons for fighting are to prove superiority, hegemony and competition for dominating the world. The horrors of war cannot be described in words.
