Al Derwaza restaurant offers authentic Emirati fare in a traditional ambience

The restaurant is decorated in traditional Arabic designs to reflect a menu based on authentic Emirati recipes. The atmosphere provides a cosy ambience that represents the culture of the UAE. Their colourful interiors accentuated with deep brown wooden latticework form the perfect environment in which to indulge in Emirati classic dishes.
When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by an Arabian styled majlis where you can sit down on the wooden floor on comfy cushions or in private rooms. The restaurant's goal is to keep the traditional taste alive and the scenes and scents are reminiscent of the times gone by. And like a traditional Emirati dining experience, their plates are made for sharing.

Some of their specialities include the flavourful Royal Derwaza Breakfast, and Chebab, which are soft cardamom flavoured pancakes. Try the hearty Saloona Chicken with vegetables, a stew that is made in a spicy tomato sauce. Their signature dish is the Mandy Meat, a delicious mixture of rice, spices and slow-cooked meat. It is very popular during family occasions.
Also, seafood has its own special status in local cuisine and dishes such as Biryani Samak and Machboos Fish are a must try! This restaurant is located in a mall, but it manages to replicate the authentic flavours of a time when Emirati dishes were made in pits dug in the desert ground.
