Anjili Samtani-Radia is managing director of Splash 'n' Party, which is Dubai's latest aqua park in Jumeirah. A resident of Dubai for almost 20 years, the Indian national has long been enamoured with Dubai's outdoors and child-friendly lifestyle. It was the combination of these factors that led her to launch the popular kids attraction in February 2016. Having previously worked in real estate, she was also the brains behind Dubai's Funky Monkeys Playland. Born and brought up in Hong Kong, Anjili also speaks fluent Cantonese - a Chinese dialect.
Family and Friends
I like to have a balance between my professional and personal life. Outside of work, it is important that I spend enough time with my family and friends. Often, evenings are spent socialising and hanging out with friends, whether it's over a quick bite or a very fulfilling session of retail therapy. I always find it energising to meet people, and it fends off any feelings of frustration from work. Whenever I get the time, I enjoy going out dancing with my friends.
Working Out
I try to be very disciplined with my workout sessions and go either before or after work. I'm a bit of a fitness junkie as it aids in sweating away the worries and helps me remain healthy. Some of my favourite workout activities are kick-?boxing, canoeing, paddle boarding, or a mere stroll down the beach. My husband introduced me to canoeing a few years ago and canoeing down the Palm Jumeirah in the morning with him is one of my favourite things to do. It lifts my mood and spirits and makes me instantly happy.
Planning Ahead
One of the main reasons why people feel burnt out in their jobs is due to overwhelming tasks and expectations. I usually plan my day well in advance. After my usual routine at home, I carve out a few minutes to list down top priorities for the next morning. I have had this habit for years and I can attest to how effective it is in helping me cope with the daily tasks of family and work.
Tidying up the House
I like to spend some time every day making sure the house is tidy and clean - especially with two little children, it seldom is the way I left it in the morning. Taking time to tidy up the house will reduce stress and fatigue. It also facilitates positive energy in the morning, which is essential for maintaining happiness and balance throughout the day.
Massages
It's striking gold to make time for a soothing massage. So, whenever there is some spare time and I really need to rejuvenate and unwind, a nice massage is the only answer. It helps me disconnect, even if for a little bit from everything and makes me feel better, especially after a long day at work. With the stressful and busy everyday, it is so important to take time out for yourself. Massages are my favourite stress reliever and they help me think more clearly.
Spending Time with my Kids
My kids are my inspiration and I love spending time with them. Your routine reflects your highest priorities in life, ?and I make sure I spend a lot of time with my kids. Whether it's waking up early to get them out the door for school, or helping them with school-work. I am fortunate that I can choose my working hours, and find a way to spend a lot of time with them.
