The 13th annual event continues to be well-supported by operators from the region’s most developed markets, featuring presentations from Etisalat, the official event endorser, du, Zain, Saudi Telecom and Nawras.

The 2-day congress to be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre will again comprise a multi-streamed, strategic and technical conference alongside a networking exhibition showcasing the products and services of over 160 international companies.

It has brought together 2500 plus telco decision makers, 160 exhibitors and over 65 expert speakers for agenda setting, strategic debate.

Reflecting the changing dynamics of the telco market, the event has extended beyond mobile to focus on the opportunities presented by convergence, the evolution to 3G, broadband and beyond.

“The Middle East region represents one of the world’s fastest growing mobile subscription markets with a 47 per cent year-on-year increase. Mobile penetration in the Middle East reached 56 per cent at end of the first half of 2008, although this figure is much higher across GCC markets. We expect these more mature markets to see a surge in wireless broadband usage as operators look to develop their networks and drive an increase in data traffic levels,” said Ian Hemming, Chief Executive Officer of Informa Telecoms & Media.

The conference will also focus on all competing and complementary forms of broadband access and services.
